Anyone know what kinda fish this is?

That article says up to 20", but I've seen much larger. They're probably more common here in NZ that in the US, we get a fairly constant supply of regular Giant Gourami's and RTGG. I've seen a couple that were over 24" and probably still growing, as they were under 10 years old. 100 gallons is in reality far too small for a fish of this size. A friend of a friend had hers in a 180g and it made the tank look tiny. They can't turn very easily, being quite a thick-bodied fish, so nede a lot of width in their tank. I've also seen pics of the aftermath of one going straight through the end of a tank made from 10mm (1/2") glass, with only 5 feet of room to buid up speed. They're massively powerful fish.

And I don't blame you for lusting after the tank, I've done that myself from time to time. Like the 40,000L planted tank being featured in this months PFK magazine. It's not a tank, it's a private little ecosystem
